This is how the Certificate in Regenerative Entrepreneurship was born in 2019, under UCI’s founder leadership Eduard Müller, as a transdisciplinary program to co-create a better future for all forms of life.
The core of this program is based on Biomimicry. Nature offers us solutions to our challenges, which we only know by consciously emulating its wisdom. Biomimicry seeks to reconnect the human being with nature itself, with life and with what emerges from that connection. Then everything we do, will work within the planetary logic. The biomimetic process goes from challenge, to biology, to design. In this program we offer you a naturalistic, constructivist and holistic approach, where the complexity, interconnection and wisdom of nature are celebrated. Our purpose is that you can identify the relationships of the ecosystems, represented in the four modules of the program: Discover, Transform, Connect and Transcend. And at the same time, you are invited to put into practice all the shared knowledge, to generate a lasting impact for the planet.
Why Regenerative Development?
Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology are important components of regeneration. You will be immersed in the use of new approaches to solve social, environmental and economic problems. Different aspects of social entrepreneurship will be analyzed in order to understand what may or may not be successful. Regenerative entrepreneurship requires integrated competences, beyond knowledge and skills. Attitude, consciousness, mindfulness and passion are highly relevant. Wellbeing of all life forms replaces traditional measures of success. The practical integration of the above components will allow for new mindsets that will foster innovative approaches to local territorial development.

Current global and technological changes are now exponential and thus any process for co-creating solutions has to be dynamic. Below is an outline of the Certificate Program. This is not a rigid program and the base of the certificate is an active co-creation process between students, speakers and mentors. One of the fundamental outcomes of the certificate is to have people capable of managing complex challenges in cooperation with other regenerators under permanent changing conditions. Flexibility, creativity and innovation will be standard practice in the discussions and thus will feed into the implementation of the program.
All participants who successfully complete each module receive a Certificate in Regenerative Entrepreneurship diploma, endorsed by the University for International Cooperation (UCI). When the participants complete the full program, they also receive the corresponding diploma.
To successfully complete each module, the participant must actively participate in the scheduled sessions, present their regenerative project (the progress according to the topics of each module) and have received the mentoring session, provided by the program.
