Over a year ago, UCI ventured itself in the project to obtain a PMI®academic accreditation; this process meant an extensive work of summary and explains the processes in the University and the program as in the quality of it as in its social projection trough its students and alumni.

This effort has been rewarded on March 20th, 2009, when the GAC Board members voted to confer UCI’s Project Management Master Program the PMI®GAC Accreditation.

With this accreditation the GAC Board recognize the commitment to Project Management educational excellence that has been demonstrated by UCI’s Project Management Master Program during the process.

Hereby, the UCI’s Project Management Master Program students, from now and on, receive 1.500 hours of project management experience toward earning their credential (http://www.pmi.org/CareerDevelopment/Pages/AboutPMIsCredentials.aspx); likewise, our program must fulfill faithfully the goals of the PMI GAC Accreditation Program:

  • Promote the professionalization of project management
  • Ensure high-quality academic programs in project management
  • Provide external quality standards for program planning and improvement efforts
  • Provide recognition by PMI and GAC
  • Facilitate communication among schools and faculty

To everyone in UCI this is another successful project, another fulfilled goal in pro of the quality of a Project Management Master Program of international recognition

We extend our gratefulness to the administrative staff that was leading this project and those that gave their collaboration; likewise, to all the Faculty members of the Project Management Master Program who offered their support in pro of the success of this process of accreditation.
